Lilongwe Day Trip (Airport pickup & onward transfer to Lusaka, Zambia)
Pickup
- 07:30 — Meet & greet at Lilongwe Airport. Driver will assist with luggage and brief the day’s plan.
Itinerary (times approximate)
07:45–09:15 — Lilongwe City Tour Description: Scenic drive through Lilongwe’s main districts (Old Town, Central Business District, residential areas) to get a feel for the city, local life, and key landmarks. Short photo stops as required.
09:30–10:00 — World Heritage Tower Description: Visit the tower for panoramic views over Lilongwe and surrounding countryside. Ideal for photos and a short orientation on the city’s layout and history.
10:15–11:00 — Lilongwe Art Gallery Market Description: Explore the art gallery market featuring Malawian paintings, woodcarvings, textiles and crafts. Opportunity to meet local artisans and shop for souvenirs.
11:15–12:00 — Parliament Building (tour to the chamber) Description: Guided exterior and interior visit to Malawi’s Parliament complex, including access up to the parliamentary chamber (subject to security clearance). Overview of Malawi’s legislative history and architecture.
12:15–12:45 — Kamuzu Mausoleum Description: Visit the mausoleum and memorial gardens dedicated to Malawi’s founding president, Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda. Short interpretive walk and photo opportunity.
13:00–13:30 — Bingu National Stadium Description: Drive-by and short visit to the stadium complex—learn about major sporting and national events hosted there and take exterior photos.
13:30–14:00 — Light Lunch / Quick Refreshment (optional) Description: Short pause for refreshments or a quick boxed lunch to prepare for the onward journey. (Can be arranged on request.)
Transfer to Lusaka
- 14:00 — Depart Lilongwe by private car (Toyota Axio or similar) toward the Malawi–Zambia border.
- Border formalities — approx. 30 minutes Description: Stop at the border for passport checks and any required paperwork/exit and entry procedures. Driver will assist. (Please have passport and any required visas/travel documents ready.)
- After clearing the border, continue drive to Lusaka (approximate onward driving time depends on border crossing and traffic).

- Please carry passport, visas (if required), and any vaccination documents as applicable or required.
- Dress comfortably and bring sun protection and a small bottle of water.
- Timings are approximate and may vary with traffic, security, or border processing times.
Note:
New Zealand citizens do not require a visa to enter Zambia for stays of up to 90 days. However, a visa is required for entry into Malawi and can be obtained online prior to travel.

Cancellation Policy — Lilongwe Day Trip & Transfer
- Standard policy
- Bookings are non-refundable for voluntary cancellations by the customer.
1.Exceptions (reschedule without penalty)
- If the traveler cannot travel due to any of the following: natural disaster, inability to leave her country, airline cancellation, significant flight delay or interruption, border closure, or an unforeseen pandemic situation, the customer may reschedule the tour and transfer to future dates without penalty.
1.Refund option with penalty
- If rescheduling is not feasible under the exceptions above, the customer will receive a refund minus a $200 administrative penalty.
1. Documentation
- Eligibility for rescheduling or refund under the exceptions requires reasonable supporting documentation (e.g., airline notice/ticket change, government travel restriction, official disaster advisory, medical or public-health documentation).
- Notification & timelines
- The customer must notify the operator as soon as possible and no later than the original departure date. Refunds (when applicable) will be processed within 14 business days of approval of the claim.
